Ioan Mircea Pașcu

Ioan Mircea Pașcu (born 17 February 1949 in Satu Mare) is a Romanian politician, a Member of the European Parliament and a former Minister of Defense in the Adrian Năstase cabinet. He is a member of the Social Democratic Party, part of the Party of European Socialists, and became an MEP on 1 January 2007 with the accession of Romania to the European Union. Joan Mircea Pașcu is particular mentioned in the report of the investigator of the Council of Europe to illegal activities of the U.S. secret service CIA in Europe, Dick Marty, as one of the persons, who authorized or at least knew about and have to stand accountable for torture prisons on the military base Mihail Kogălniceanu from 2003 to 2005.[1]
